Crochet stitches part 1
In the world of crochet there exist a lot of different kind of stitches. Here in my blog you can find a lot of usable stitches all having their pattern and images to give you a better look on how they work. In part 1 you can find more about the first basic stitch : the single crochet.
Single Crochet : One of the basics!
The single crochet stitch will be the stitch you will use the most of all. It is very easy and in no time you will have a result like the gauge swatch you can see.
Crochet 15 chain stitches.
This one is your foundation row. In the next step you will work your stitches into this foundation chain.
Now you insert the hook into the second chain (counting from the hook).
Now you bring the yarn from back to front over the hook.
Bring the hook with the wrapped yarn through the chain stitch.
Now you have two loops on your hook.
Bring the yarn again over the hook from back to front.
Bring the hook with the wrapped yarn through the both loops on the crochet hook.
One loop will remain on the crochet hook. This one is your first single crochet stitch!
Insert the hook in the next chain and repeat steps 3 to 7.
Repeat step 8 until the end of your chain.
You will now have completed your first row of single crochet stitches.
Now you have completed your first row of single crochet stitches. Chain 1 and turn your work.
Now you just repeat all of the steps, but instead of inserting your hook in the chain stitch, you now insert the hook into the single crochet stitches.
